Energetic, modern and simply electrifying, these were the key factors, which made Jyväskylä based electro rock quartet, Anydoll the winner of Big Boom band competition in 2009. The first place brought studio time and a gig in Kokkola Rock. Studio time in Studio Musica was used to record vocals on their 2009 EP ”Private Show” and the performance in Kokkola Rock gave performance experience on a slightly bigger stage. ”The victory felt amazing because we had quite a few troubles just before the competition. For example, our keyboardist of that time had to cancel her participation, but luckily everything turned out exactly how we wanted”, explains Madd Morley, the vocalist-bassist of the group. ”The biggest thing that Big Boom 2009 gave to us was a lot of self-confidence as a band. That was precisely what we needed back then."
Today Anydoll is sweating in the rehearsal room for their upcoming full-length, which is planned to due before April 2011. In addition to the album, the quartet will also be shooting a new music video. Furthermore, the vocalist wishes for interesting and eventful gigs around Finland to get more stage experience. ”After five years, I hope we have released few more albums and achieved something new amidst music in general. It would be great to get more true fans today, so they would ask for new music from us more and more”, he says.
The band will perform in Big Boom 2010 final on Sunday 11th of April. On their website they have also promised to play material from their upcoming album.
